It’s Halloween again and moms everywhere are looking for an original costume, something that hasn’t been worn a million times before. Well, the Corn Witch costume certainly qualifies! Your girl will look sweet and the odds are pretty good no one will be wearing the same outfit in your neighborhood.

What’s a good neighbor? Well, it depends a lot on your perspective. For some, a good neighbor keeps to himself, doesn’t make a lot of noise, and graces you with a friendly wave now and again. This is an acceptable role nowadays but it is also a sign of the deterioration of our society.

Remember when you were growing up, or it may be as far back as when your parents were growing up. A neighbor’s home was a substitute for a corner store; it was a second family, and it was definitely a safe place to hang out. You could count on borrowing anything you needed or even getting your skinned knee bandaged up just as lovingly as you would from your own mother. What has changed?

5 Things You Never Knew About Your Neighbors

It amazes me that with the population and how closely we live to one another we usually fall into one of two categories. The first being the type of neighbor that chooses not to get to know their neighbors and then the polar opposite, the ones that neighbors are like family. These types of people actually set out to purposely develop a relationship with their neighbors. I was one of those. Was is the key word. Sure the argument is that is better to know your neighbors mainly for security when you are away. Buy an alarm! The neighbors you trust may be the ones I will be speaking of.

My eldest daughter is just like me now and tries not to get too involved with the family type relationship with neighbors. My son-in-law on the other hand is the opposite, oil and water. Somehow they make it work. Neighbors can come in all shades and types. The information you can acquire is sometimes too much for a healthy non-biased opinion.
